We all enjoyed playing some games in the field to celebrate the Kings' Coronation, and then invited parents into school to sing them our Coronation song. We hope you enjoy it.

We had a wonderful visit from our neighbours from Genie in South Witham today. They kindly bought each of our children a creme egg for Easter! The children were thrilled by the visit as you can imagine! A BIG thank you to Team Genie for their kind gesture.

Easter Celebration Assembly

Lunch Time Club with Mrs Gilbert

This morning we were joined by our ‘special guest’ visitor in assembly, Team GB Paralympian and World Champion Sam Ruddock. He talked to the children about things that help him focus such as having enough sleep, fuelling his body correctly and being organised. He showed us his gold medal from the world championships! A true inspiration.

Chance to Shine Cricket Programme

This term year 1/2 and year 5/6 are taking part in the 'Chance to Shine Cricket Programme'. The Chance to Shine coaches inspire and enthuse the children about the sport of cricket. Their Spirit of Cricket assemblies are a brilliant way to introduce the sport and the values of the game to the pupils. At the heart of cricket are the values of fair play, teamwork and respect. Cricket is an inclusive sport where boys and girls play and develop together.

As well as developing the technical skills of the children and getting them physically active, Chance to Shine use the sport to support the national curriculum through cricket-themed lessons.

Throughout the sessions, coaches use cricket to teach children valuable life skills like teamwork, respect and communication. By focussing on developing the whole child and the achievement of ‘personal best’, our coaches develop the children’s social and mental wellbeing, building their confidence and improving their attitude towards sport.

Today we had a visitor in to teach us all about Hinduism and the story of Rama and Sita which is an incredibly significant tale from the Hindu religion and more specifically the Festival of Light, otherwise known as Diwali.

It's our first week back after half term and we have already taken part in 4 sport events!!

On Monday 3rd October, we were so lucky as we had a visit from a real life author! Gareth Peter came in and gave our whole school an interesting assebly about he started writing, what inspired him and how he feels extremely lucky to be an author. He then went to every class and read them hiss book and answered all sorts of questions.

In the first couple of weeks of term 1, we had a visit from Darren at Roots to Food. He came in and taught every year group how to cook Teriyaki Chicken! It was so delicious and went down a storm with the children. We managed to get the recipe and the children then went home and cooked it again!

We were very lucky in September and had M&M Theatrical Productions come and perform Scrooge for our whole school! Everyone had a brilliant time. There were lots of laughs and lots of singing.
