Welcome to our final term! The hot weather is here and we will be enjoying the sunshine as much as possible. We will be staying in the shade where possible. We shall be growing some plants, enjoying some traditional tales, writing letters and making sure we know our spellings before moving up to the next year group. See resources below for a list of the common exception spellings your child needs to know. Plus, there is a useful summary sheet outlining the punctuation and grammar that your child should know by the of each year.
Welcome to term 5. This term we will be learning about traditional tales and writing some of our own versions of these with a little twist! We will also be finding out about living things and using 'MRS GREN' to help us remember the 7 qualities that all living things share. In History we will be focussing on local people who are famous. In Geography we will be improving our map reading skills and creating a map of our school. For the King's coronation we will be doing some baking and setting up our own little 'street party' at school. Plus we will continue with our preparations for Year 2 SATs and the Year 1 phonics screening.
We are enjoying our dragon work. The children made this dragon together and are busy producing some amazing writing.
