We used our ' parts of the body' knowledge from Science to help make realistic knights for our Knights and Castles topic!

We have made a great start with on our new topic, 'Knights and Castles'. We took a virtual tour of Windsor Castle and the children loved the gold on the ceilings and walls.

We have also been enjoying learning about pulse and rhythm and the children started to put together some ideas for body percussion and performance. Take a look at our photos!

We have had a very exciting week in Rabbit Class. We enjoyed making our calendars. We loved our party and we polished off our Christmas dinner!

Making our Christmas cards.

Our Christmas party and lunch

This week has been very busy as usual. We have recorded our Nativity and the children enjoyed dressing up in their costumes. We have been learning about Christingle and the children have enjoyed making them this afternoon. Ask your child what the candle represents, what the four sticks represent, what the red ribbon represents and what the sweets represent! We have also been enjoying our reading and  have been doing really well in class with the new decodable books. In writing, the Year 2 children have been learning to use coordinating conjunctions and subordinating conjunctions. The Year 1 children are learning to write sentences independently- using their phonics skills to sound out their words. There are no photos this week as there are some technical issues with our class iPad. Hopefully this will soon be resolved.

We joined the local community to lay a wreath for the fallen. The children wrote prayers and read them out beautifully. We then listened to the last post and observed the two minute silence before laying our wreath.

We tried out reading with a buddy this week and  we really enjoyed it!

We loved being outside and looking for signs of autumn.
