Routine and Organisation

Each day we encourage free play throughout the morning, where the children explore and learn through play. This is where the children can pick and choose what they want to play with and help us to choose which messy play activity they would like out.

At 10am we have a circle time where the children can join in with a story of the week, where we act out parts of the story and explore what we can see on each page. This helps to encourage early reading and sharing a book with others.

At snack time we sit together to encourage conversation and promote healthy eating and provide milk and fruit to eat.

The children play outside in all weathers throughout the morning and we encourage them to put on their own coats and wellies or shoes.

At 11.30 we come together to sing songs and have another story.

Our 3-4 years olds join the reception class in the afternoons to become the woodlands foundation group.

On Monday we look at our term topic and join in with science experiments. Tuesday and Friday we join in with PE, Wednesday is a music afternoon and Thursday we go to the woodlands area on the field.
