YR 6 Sailing and Fun Swim

We are pleased to share that our Year 6 children have the opportunity to take part in a Sailing Day at Rutland Sailing Club on Tuesday 2^nd July 2024.

We will leave and return during normal school hours.

The children should wear comfortable leisure clothes e.g. shorts/tracksuit bottoms, t-shirts, hoodies and trainers, sunhat and will need sun cream please.  For the sailing tuition they will all also need to bring swimwear, towel and old trainers or similar – these must be closed toe and can be worn in the water (No shoes = no activity).

Please also bring a spare pair of clothes to change into.

The Sailing Club’s Sailing School is a Royal Yachting Association Recognised Training Centre. They have risk assessments in place and are also Adventure Activity Licensed.

We will also spend some time enjoying the outside space next to Rutland Water playing games and having a picnic.  Please can the children therefore bring a packed lunch, snacks and plenty of drinks; Free School Meal entitled pupils will receive a school pack-up lunch.

After lunch, we will head over to Edith Weston Academy and have a fun swim session for an hour before heading back to school for 3.15pm.

The cost of the trip to parents/carers is £17. This includes the sailing experience, the pool and the transport.

If you would like your child to take part, please complete and return the permission slip below by Friday 14^th  June.
